On Friday evening, the whole German class goes to a small Italian restaurant that Leo knows. From the menu, recommendations and ordering, drinks, “Enjoy your meal”, dessert cake, through to paying—the 25 sentences about restaurant, guests, ordering, recommendations, and taste form a single episode. With Mr. Schmidt, use the formal Sie.

On Friday the whole German class is going to a restaurant.
Leo kennt ein gutes Lokal. Es ist italienisch.

Das Lokal ist klein, aber voll. Viele Gäste warten.
The restaurant is small but packed. Many guests are waiting.
Der Kellner bringt die Speisekarte.
The waiter brings the menu.

Und die Getränke? Wasser, Saft oder Wein?

Frau Schmidt trinkt ein Glas Wein.
